Fashion Resource Guide Benchmark For Fibres

Benchmarkforfibres.jpg

The preferred fibers is a guide to consider but not the only solution to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees celsius above pre-industrial levels. This means fashion must reduce its impact by 45-55% by 2030. Traceability is important. For example, growing linen in one region of the world then sending it across the world to be spun and so on is adding impact. Working with suppliers who trace their textiles from farm to finish is one solution. Eliminating fossil fuel based fashion is another. Working with farmers directly and engaging in soil health and organic carbon farming is the most sound approach. There is more to explore here as raw material production has the highest impact.
